Portrait of Shayla

  • Birth Year: 2009
  • Child ID: 342123
Shayla, who likes to go by America, is a teen worth knowing! The performing arts is where this girl feels a calling. Drama, acting, and singing brings America’s talents to the forefront. She also enjoys playing the clarinet and appreciates art. Royal blue comes out on top of the charts, and America thinks white wolves are the prettiest animals on the planet. Reformed ruffian Draco Malfoy has an admirer in this avid reader. Shapeshifting or being able to see the future would be America’s picks for superpowers, and she loves munching on French fries. America maintains positive relationships with older peers and adults. She is known for her caring nature and appreciation for trying new things. America is still weighing out her option for careers, but a high school teacher, travel agent, and a foster/adoptive parent have all made the shortlist.

English is always looked forward to by this eighth-grader. This teen enjoys everything from fantasy chapter books to learning new languages.

America would do best in a family in which she is the youngest child; however, her caseworker will consider all family types. She will need to remain in contact with her siblings following placement. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services.

For Missouri children, both home studied and non-home studied Missouri families are encouraged to inquire; only home studied families from other states should do so.
